    » “PRACTICALLY PERFECT IN EVERY WAY” — Mary Poppins, 1964

    full name → mary poppins
    current age → appears thirty-seven, unknown
    faceclaim → janelle monáe
    based off of → mary poppins from mary poppins
    powers/abilities → magic, time travel, speaking any language (human or not), immortality.
    status → available

    — they are described to be ;

    +well mannered, intelligent, tidy
    - particular, headstrong, delightfully vain

    — biography ;

    Mary Poppins a name without a record and only heard through the whisper of the wind on a chilly morning. Mary has been around for longer than we know and farther than anyone can think. They have been around for ages but doesn’t look a day past thirty and you better not tell her otherwise. They can be a tad vain. But can you blame them with her soft features and prim personality. Showing up on people’s doorsteps with their peacoat and parrot head umbrella ready to fix whatever it is they need.

    The brunette is certainly an interesting person. Their words are so proper as they flow out in riddles that make you think. Her creating completely new worlds for you to step into out of sidewalk chalk sketches or paintings on the sides of a kettle. Magical bubble baths that lead you to another world. Toys that fly right back into place with the point of her finger. Their bag is practically bottomless as she pulls out whatever she needs in whatever size. The way they sit on a cloud and touches up her makeup. Everything about her seems imaginary. Yet, all of it is so real. She never lies, everything they say is the truth… and you’ll never get an explanation because she never explains herself.

    The fact of the matter is Mary Poppins is absolutely magical. Known amongst peers as the Guardian of Imagination. The man on the moon gifted them the powers to guard and protect the young children from growing old and rather boring. Their magic is truly to help others in need and they do so with a smile. The adventures she has been on one may never believe, especially a silly old grown up. So, their magic is based on children’s imagination. The more they believe the more they can do. Sometimes all it takes is a little magic to help fix a problem. No matter how sour a spoonful of sugar can always help. Her magic was a gift only to be used for the good of others, for inspiration of imagination, and the greater good of humanity. Neither for ill or her own needs. Their power is to spark imagination and creativity into the minds of those young and old.

    Last thing they remember was leaving the Bank’s family in London back in 1910 and now she awoke in the year 2022 with quite the headache and a broken umbrella. The one thing she will need to travel. When they spotted Bert she was taken by surprise there was no possible way he could have traveled with her, right? Something can’t be right… Everything in this town is peculiar and there seems to be a force stopping her magic. There must be a need that has to be fulfilled before she can leave this place but she can’t yet put a finger on where or why. There is a strong feeling of evil she cannot shake as she walks through the city streets. Something is afoot and Mary is going to get to the bottom of it.

    So, Mary did what they know best. She knocked on a door and pretended to be a nanny. Admittedly it wasn’t the best idea but she figured if she could find a place to stay things would start to fall into place. Thankfully she had Bert to help her figure everything out or she would really be sideways.

    * mary identifies as non-binary and uses she / they pronouns.

    powers/abilities → powerful sense of smell
    status → available

    — he is described to be ;

    +, inventive, self-assured, tenacious
    -, frustrated, lonely, timid

    — biography ;

    growing up with nothing to his name, remy had big dreams of making a name for himself. his mother passed away when he was young leaving his father to raise two boys on his own. it left his father to be strict on his two boys. django cadieux worked as a garbage man. it wasn’t the most glamorous of jobs but it paid well. django wanted better for his sons sure but remy’s dreams always seemed so outlandish to him. as a child, remy’s favorite chef was auguste gusteau. he would watch tapes of his old show religiously. the line ‘anyone can cook’ stuck with remy. it was a line that gave remy comfort but also hope because if anyone could cook then so could he. so, from a young age remy was throwing together different recipes. some he followed, some he made on his own and even if they didn’t always come out great they were always delicious. remy had an amazing smell and palette which came in handy in the kitchen. his brother emile was always so impressed with his brother’s creations. their father? not so much.

    with gusteau being an inspiration to him, it was no shock to anyone that remy dreamed of working at his famous restaurant gusteau’s in paris. only the best of the best worked there. well, they did work there until anton ego bumped the restaurant from five stars to four. legend says that the review caused gusteau to die of a broken heart. in his heart, remy felt that he could get the place back to five stars. he had the passion, the skills and heart. no one was more devoted to gusteau than he was. he had followed gusteau his entire life. the chef almost felt like a friend at this point but there was one thing standing between remy and his dream place: culinary school. not only did he not have the money for it, his father suggested he get his head out of the clouds about food and do something actually worthwhile so he didn’t end up like him. being as bold as he was, remy thought he’d be able to make it without culinary school. he was self taught and without all the fancy bells and whistles he was a damn good chef. anyone who tasted his food could vouch for that. so with what little money he had saved up he traveled to paris. there was a part of remy that believed in himself so much that he was sure once the sou chef there had a chance to try his signature dish, ratatouille, they would see his potential.

    however that wasn’t the case. when he entered gusteau remy immediately felt something was off. this was not the restaurant he had seen in all those videos. the atmosphere was dreary. it was lacking the passion and light that gusteau emitted himself. the restaurant had sank into obscurity. when he came face to face with gusteau’s sous chef, skinner, who inherited the restaurant, remy asked what had happened to the place. the man would not give him the time of day but remy followed him around, pleading and saying he could help turn this place around, to which skinner finally paused to face remy only to laugh in his face. he told remy that they didn’t allow rats in the kitchen and for him to get out of his restaurant.

    after being turned away from gusteau’s, remy felt defeated. however, there was someone on his side. alfredo linguini, or just known as linguini, the garbage boy who also had dreams of being a chef as well. the only thing, he lacked the talent remy had. he told remy that not long ago the best chef they had, colette tatou, had left to open her own restaurant in elias called carthay. she was devoted to gusteau’s creative legacy as well and could no longer stand how skinner was destroying gusteau’s life work. if anyone was willing to save gusteau and teach him the craft it was her. so, with the help of his brother, remy found himself in elias and at the doors of carthay. remy was prepared to be turned away once again when he told them he was a self taught chef looking for a chance and he would have been turned away had westley bernard not insisted colette give him a chance. they all started somewhere didn’t they? all they needed was one person to believe in them. colette knew she was taking a big risk on remy but after he mentioned his love for gusteau’s work she knew that he where he was meant to be. it wasn’t going to be easy, colette was going to make remy work hard if he wanted to be the great chef he aspired to be but it would be worth it in the end. remy was finally given his big break and was now working at the most renowned restaurant in elias. now was his chance to show the world, and his father, that he could do this and it wasn’t a silly dream.

    he could do this right?

    » “life’s a movie, write your own ending” — the muppets movie, 1979

    full name  → kaiden henson
    current age → twenty-six

    faceclaim → jonah hauer-king
    based off of → kermit the frog from the muppets
    powers/abilities → n/a
    statusavailable

    he is described to be ;

    +, wise, selfless, down to earth
    -, anxious, easily frustrated, sarcastic

    — biography ;

    born in a serene and close-knit town in the heart of louisiana, kaiden henson’s story is one of dreams, ambition, and overcoming personal barriers. from the early stages of his life, it was clear that kaiden possessed an innate passion for storytelling and a burning desire to bring his imaginative visions to life. however, the shy and introverted nature that often accompanies creativity would prove to be both a stumbling block and a catalyst in his journey toward becoming a director.

    kaiden’s upbringing in a small town provided him with a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. surrounded by nature’s beauty and a supportive community, he developed a keen eye for observing the intricacies of human behavior and the subtle nuances of the world around him. from an early age, kaiden found solace in his imagination, concocting stories and scenarios in his mind that transcended the boundaries of his humble surroundings. but life had other plans for kaiden and his family. at the age of ten, an unexpected turn of events led them to pack their bags and leave behind the tranquility of their small town for the vibrant chaos of new york city. the bustling metropolis was a stark contrast to the simplicity of his previous home, and kaiden found himself thrust into an unfamiliar world that both intrigued and overwhelmed him.

    as kaiden adjusted to his new surroundings, his shy demeanor became more pronounced. the towering skyscrapers and the bustling crowds served as a constant reminder of his own perceived insignificance. engulfed by the fast-paced rhythm of the city, kaiden retreated further into his own world, finding solace in the quiet corners of libraries and the darkened halls of movie theaters. it was within the enchanting embrace of cinema that kaiden’s passion for storytelling truly came to be. the silver screen became his refuge, transporting him to distant realms and introducing him to all sorts of characters. as he watched films unfold before his eyes, a realization dawned on him: he wanted to be the one shaping those stories, the one directing the movies.

    however, the path from shy observer to confident director seemed like an insurmountable challenge. kaiden’s reserved nature held him back from fully expressing his ideas and sharing his vision with others. the fear of judgment and rejection loomed over him, threatening to extinguish his creative spark before it could ignite. but true passion cannot be silenced indefinitely. kaiden’s determination to pursue his dreams outweighed his reservations. recognizing the need to confront his shyness head-on, he sought opportunities to step out of his comfort zone. he joined drama club, where he discovered the transformative power of performance and the freedom it offered him to inhabit characters and stories beyond his own. drama club was were he had met penelope hainline. the blonde haired girl who was destined for stardom and loved that he had a camera. the pair spent their afternoons going to movies and filming their very own. penelope always the star of each one of course.

    through acting with penelope, kaiden found his voice. he learned to use his shyness and channel it into the creation of authentic and emotional characters. the stage became a platform where he could shed his inhibitions, inspiring him to explore other aspects of storytelling beyond acting. the desire to be behind the camera grew stronger within him, fueled by the realization that directing would allow him to shape narratives and touch the hearts of audiences in a profound way. in pursuit of his aspirations, kaiden immersed himself in the world of cinema. he devoured books on filmmaking, studying the techniques of master directors, and analyzing the power of visual storytelling. with an unwavering commitment to his craft, he experimented with borrowed cameras, capturing the essence of the city that had both intimidated and inspired him. all while his friendship with penelope became strained. they were leading two different lives in high school now. she had begun hanging out with the girls who used to pick on them and somehow forgot all about their big plans. but, he stayed focused on his passion. he couldn’t help she wasn’t the person she used to be.

    the process of making films became a means of self-discovery for kaiden. behind the lens he found a voice that transcended his shyness. he discovered that the medium of film allowed him to communicate ideas and emotions that eluded him in ordinary conversations. each frame he captured, each story he told through the lens, became an extension of himself—a testament to his creativity and his desire to connect with others. as kaiden matured, his skills as a director blossomed alongside his personal growth. he recognized that his shyness, far from being a hindrance, had become an asset. it allowed him to observe the world with a keen eye for detail, to empathize with the experiences of others, and to create authentic and emotionally resonant stories that touched the hearts of audiences.

    driven by his passion kaiden took a leap of faith and applied to renowned film course in elias, california. the doors of opportunity swung open, granting him the chance to refine his skills and learn from industry professionals who recognized his unique talent and unwavering dedication. college proved to be a transformative period for kaiden. surrounded by fellow creatives who shared his dreams and understood the power of storytelling, he flourished. but he still missed making films with penelope. he delved into the intricacies of cinematography, screenwriting, and directing, honing his technical skills while nurturing his artistic sensibilities. during his time in film school, kaoden directed several short films that garnered acclaim at local festivals. with each project, kaiden’s confidence grew, and he continued to push the boundaries of his creative expression.

    today kaiden henson stands on the precipice of a promising career as a director. he is in the works of creating his own stufio in elias called: rainbow connection productions. the shy and introverted boy from a small louisiana town is transforming into a visionary storyteller, armed with a unique perspective and a profound understanding of the human experience. driven by his unwavering love for cinema and the power of storytelling, kaiden is determined to leave an indelible mark on the world of filmmaking. now with the studio opening he just has to create a great story to tell.
